In the League, program planning has a special meaning. This process generates study ideas at the grass roots level and results in adopting one or more studies at a League convention. Each study group welcomes and needs participation of all members. Please contact Vice President for Programs (Mary Alice Garza) to let her know your interest in participating. The local league adopted the following studies for 2012-2013. Vote Centers in Collin County Vote Centers: SCOPE -- The scope of the study is to research the background of vote
centers and examine how they are working. Some of the topics for
study include (a) What were the legislative sponsors’ expectations?
(b) What makes a vote center successful? (c) How does Collin County
measure up? (d) What is the impact of vote centers on turnout, costs,
etc. Human Trafficking Human Trafficking: On January 31, 2013, the League of Women Voters of Plano/Collin County sponsored a public forum relating to the issues associated with human trafficking (see press release).
