Holiday Meet and Greet and Election Update!
Members, put this on your calendars:
Monday, December 5, 6:30-7:30
Schimelpfenig Library Program Room,
5024 Custer Rd., Plano

This will be our second big membership event of the year! We will hear from Bruce Sherbet, Collin County Elections Administrator, who will update us on our county’s participations the November General election and will answer questions.

We have also invited our newly elected Texas Senators and Representatives. All or parts of 3 Senate districts and 6 House districts are located in Collin County. We hope to hear about their plans, priorities, and concerns for the upcoming 88th Legislative Session. Our purpose is not to advocate our positions, but to get to know them and their ideas.

In addition, we are inviting our Collin County Judge and Commissioners, and we hope to hear their priorities for the Legislative session.

Please come to have some holiday treats and renew League friendships. I look forward to seeing you! You are welcome to bring a guest. Please register for the event here.

Janet

P.S. Attention VDR’s:  You’re are welcome to bring your current certificates and unused forms to the party, since they must be turned in by January 2.  We can drop them off for you.

Our League Needs Your Help

Voter Registration Chair – When a voter registration opportunity comes up, contact our group of Deputized Voter Registrars (VDR’s) to fill the slots needed. Our current chair, Connie Prill, is moving in the spring, but will train you before she leaves. Be part of the Voter Services team! Contact Janice Schieffer at Janice.schieffer.lwv@gmail.com

Nominating Committee – We need one off-Board member to join Chair Eloise Richardson, and Membership Chair Sharon Goldgar. The committee will work during January/February to find nominees for the 2023/24 Board of Directors. It’s a fun way to get to know our League members!
