    • Davis Library, 7501 Independence, Plano

  • LWV-CC Annual Meeting
These events are not sponsored by the Plano Public Library System or the City of Plano.

In addition we continue with our regular activities, including Voters Guides and Candidates Forums (taped from Zoom), which will be posted on our website.  They will cover local city council and school board races for the May 6 election.

Other activities include monthly Lunch With the League and Book Club.  See the article on these in this League News.

Our state League is active in Austin during this Legislative Session.  To make your voice heard on important bills, see Action Alerts on the LWVTX website. Two important Action Alerts are up on the website, one supporting the League’s four Priority items and one supporting raises for Texas Medicaid Community Attendants.  In addition, Capitol Action Reports can be found on the LWVTX homepage.

Ask the Candidates at LWV-CC Virtual Candidate Forums

City and school elected officials have a major impact on your community and your daily life, like how much you pay in property taxes, where housing and schools are built, and where your city and school set their priorities. It’s important to know where the candidates stand on issues that affect you.

Let us know what issues you are concerned about in the May 6 city and school elections in Collin County so we can ask the candidates in our virtual candidate forums. Send your questions to LWVCollin.forum@gmail.com before March 22 for Collin College Trustees and Plano and McKinney city councils, and by March 27 for Plano and McKinney ISD trustees.

Visit www.LWVCollin.org/Forums to see the list of participating candidates. Candidate forum recordings will be available in early April.
