State of the Election Forum
 
LWV-CC will host a free public forum on Thursday, February 20, 6:30-8:00 pm, at the Schimelpfenig Library in Plano. Newly-appointed Collin County Elections Administrator Kaleb Breaux will speak about how the November 2024 election was conducted in Collin County.

Louis Bedford IV, a Dallas civil rights attorney, will speak to us about voting rights in the United States. He is a proud graduate of the University of Texas School of Law with a deep commitment to protecting voting rights and advancing democracy. His dedication to justice and civic engagement continues to shape the fight for fair and accessible elections in Texas.

Celebrating 50 Years of the League of Women Voters of Collin County

Join us for our 50th Anniversary Celebration at BarnHill Vineyards!
 
It’s hard to believe the League of Women Voters has been accomplishing our mission of 'Empowering voters. Defending democracy.' for 50 years!
 
Meg Titus founded the Collin County League in 1974. We will be celebrating this achievement by recognizing people who have been core to our mission in the past year.
 
BarnHill Vineyards is a scenic venue in the Anna, Texas countryside.  The facility accommodates all weather conditions. If it's cold or raining we will be inside the “barn” with heaters.  If the weather is nice we can wander the grounds and sit outside.  BarnHill Vineyards serves Texas varietal wine from grapes all over Texas.  Your ticket includes wine and non-alcoholic drinks. We will be entertained by Standards Gazette, a North Texas duo playing guitar and singing our favorites.
 
Spring Creek Barbeque will provide your favorite meat and sides buffet dinner. Central Market will be providing light appetizers and desserts!
 
And finally, we will be playing some LWV trivia!
 
Our silent auction includes:

Book Club Updated
Book Club
 
All are invited to the League of Women Voters of Collin County Book Club on Wednesday, March 12 at  7:00-8:00 pm. We will meet on Zoom to discuss American Idolatry: How Christian Nationalism Betrays the Gospel and Threatens the Church by Andrew L. Whitehead.

The book club has also decided on the last book that they will be reading this League year. In May they will read First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston.
