Primary Election - March 5


The Democratic and Republican party primary elections will be held on March 5, with early voting from February 20 to March 1. The Libertarian and Green parties choose candidates at conventions. You may only participate in one party's selection process. Prepare to be a voter!

LWV-CC Program Planning


All LWV-CC members are invited to participate in our upcoming program planning meetings. In LWV, program involves education and advocacy positions. Find out more about LWV program here. On January 4 at 6:00, we will discuss ideas for state level program. On February 1 at 6:00, we will discuss local program ideas for the upcoming year. Payday and Auto Title Lending Forum


The public is invited to attend a panel discussion on payday and auto title lending on Thursday, January 18, at 7:00 pm via Zoom. Our panel of experts will educate attendees about the effects of these products and the historical efforts to curb predatory practices. We will also hear what LWV has done to support reform and what may be expected in the 2025 legislative session. After you register for this event, you will receive the Zoom link. Environmental Justice


LWV-CC hosted an Environmental Justice forum in which local experts spoke about what that means and how we achieve it through education, activism, and transforming the way we think about our rights to a healthy environment. The guest speakers were Evelyn Mayo, Chair of the Board of Downwinders at Risk; Misti O’Quinn, community organizer and educator with a focus on environmental justice, public health and quality of life; Rita Beving, Lobbyist on environmental issues; and David Griggs, Lone Star Chapter of the Sierra Club.
